The Mere Villa social club was originally a large house in Monk Street off Mere Lane, this would have been the case in 1947, it was later added to on the front to make a large dance and bar area, out of interest it was one of the Liverpool clubs where Ken Dod made a start into show business.
THE MERE LANE SOCIAL CLUB WAS ACTUALLY IN MONK STREET OFF MERE LAND.
I had my wedding reception there in June 1970. My dad played in the band at the club. I would be interested to know if anyone had any photos.
