Mere Villa Dance Hall
Can anyone tell me a little about the Mere Villa Dance Hall, this is where my parents had their wedding reception back in April 1947,
The Mere Villa social club was originally a large house in Monk Street off Mere Lane, this would have been the case in 1947, it was later added to on the front to make a large dance and bar area, out of interest it was one of the Liverpool clubs where Ken Dod made a start into show business.

ReplyDeleteTHE MERE LANE SOCIAL CLUB WAS ACTUALLY IN MONK STREET OFF MERE LAND.
ReplyDeleteI had my wedding reception there in June 1970. My dad played in the band at the club. I would be interested to know if anyone had any photos.
