Harrison Street

I am carrying out some family research and have just found out that my great-great grandparents lived in Harrison Street at about 1871, so seeing the map above was very interesting.

If anyone has any information or pictures of Harrison Street or nearby I would be very grateful.

Thank you, David.

  1. Hello David,

please see the 1843 map of Harrison Street. Please note most of the courts are off Milton street with only one or two accessible from Harrison Street. If I source any photos of the street I will post them here. The Liverpool Engineers Dept photos held at Liverpool Record Office may have a photograph of the area.

  2. In the 1901 Census there are two John Molton entries, both West Derby (Liverpool). One aged 58 a Bricksetter is at 39 Vicar (?) Road. The other, with a son, John aged 4, is at 526 Prescot Road, Sarah Ann is his wife. He is a Pork Butcher. There are several John Moulton entries.

  3. On the c1890s OS Map, Harrison Street and Back Milton Street have disappeared. I presume the old court tenements were demolished by then. I have a copy of the map but I’m unsure how to put it on the site, as it won’t let me copy and paste. Can you advise, please?

  5. Hi Rob

    Thanks for your response.

Here is the OS map showing Milton Street and Sawney Pope Street but no Harrison Street. (Hope you can open it).

I'm fascinated by the Scotland Road area, especially the old courts around Burlington Street. (Maybe I lived there in a previous life!)

I enjoy reading the blogs on your site. Keep up the good work.
